About
Richard Asher Weissman,
M.S. L.Ac., Dipl. Ac.
My
Personal History
I have degrees in jazz and classical music. For years in New
York I performed and taught and composed. Living in Daly City
in the early 1990’s my back went out and 3 friends took
me to the emergency room. I was given pain medication and
muscle relaxers. I had to be driven home, and when the medicine
wore off I was exactly the same. I tried a local acupuncture
treatment. After thirty minutes on the table I got up and
was amazed that all the low back pain was gone. I knew I wanted
an education to practice and help others. Four years later
after 3500 hours of academic and clinic, I completed my Master
of Science at the American College of Traditional Chinese
Medicine. Passing a four-day state exam with 91%, I was given
my license to practice. I was a teacher and public speaker
for the college as I built a practice. Now my current practice
keeps me busy being of help to so many whose lives are held
back because their bodies should be in better condition. I
see the frustration and I also see the reward at being able
to help. (Richard
